On the date 12th December 1965, the Tirupati Municipal Corporation was upgraded to the first grade of the municipality. It was upgraded to the selected grade of the municipality on 7th October 1998. The Tirupati Municipal Corporation was upgraded as a Municipal Corporation on 2nd March 2007.
