Aur kitne saal takk ye sab chalne wala hai……we have the technology sirji ! Online portal can be started by anyone now…… Update Email id of every property owner, instead of issuing physical copy use electronic media, save paper….. make things easy.

Offline Steps for payment of Municipal tax:
1) Find the officer who is responsible to collect your area’s property tax. The officer changes every year so do this every year.
2) Find out if he is actually on his desk, if not…….come tomorrow or ask for his number which he wont pic up.
3) After you find the authority, he asks for last year’ s tax receipt……coz he cant find it himself in that long register……. if you havent taken last year copy with you to the municipal corporation, come next day.
4) If you have last year receipt, then he will search the register on basis of receipt. Then help him find out the page number with your name.
5) If you find your name correctly written in the register, consider yourself lucky. Then he will make a receipt of your municipal tax of current year while you stand there waiting.
Now a days they might tell you to fill your own receipt. Wonder why that is when the owner himself is willing to pay taxes and municipality has employees assign to recover this tax.
6) Thereafter we issue a cheque. After this the authority looks at you as if we have disturbed him in a force or something. he then tries to tell you to give cash as we will get a quick receipt of the cash payment.
7) If you prefer cheque payment as i do, he accepts it and asks us to visit him after 4-5 days for the receipt of the payment of tax. Coz unless the cheque is deposited they wont accept it.
Its a “real time data age” we are living in fellows………i m being assured since past 3 years that a online tax payment portal is coming for dhule…… It hasnt happened until now.
Didn’t wanted to leave such a big comment but couldn’t control myself from such irritation every year.
